Smarter Structural Design for the Yass Pre-Mix Batching Plant

Kendall Consulting Engineers recently completed the structural redesign of the new Yass Pre-Mix concrete batching plant, delivering a solution that was specifically tailored to the site's favourable rock conditions.

Rather than simply following the original design, we reviewed the structural system and developed a more practical, buildable solution that reduced both construction costs and programme time.

This project demonstrates the value of considering site conditions early in the design process. By making the most of the existing ground conditions, we were able to significantly reduce material quantities and simplify construction while maintaining the required structural performance.
