How it works
What we do
Our structural engineer will inspect the completed structure, assess its structural adequacy, and prepare an engineering report outlining our findings.
Where the structure is considered structurally adequate, we can provide a structural sufficiency report suitable for submission to your certifier or council (subject to their specific requirements).
If structural concerns are identified, we'll clearly explain what needs to be rectified before structural sufficiency can be confirmed.

Common questions
- Can you obtain council approval for my unapproved structure?
- No. Only the relevant approval authority can issue building approvals. Our role is to assess the structural adequacy of the completed structure and provide an engineering report to support the approval process.
- What if the structure doesn't comply?
- If structural deficiencies are identified, we'll provide practical recommendations for strengthening or rectification so the structure can be brought up to an acceptable standard where feasible.
- Do you deal with council or my certifier?
- Yes. We regularly work with private certifiers, builders and councils and can provide the engineering documentation they require.
- Do I need the original plans?
- No. Original plans and engineering documentation are not essential; however, they are highly beneficial. Existing documentation can reduce the extent of the inspection and may minimise the need for invasive investigations to confirm how the structure has been constructed.
